Double Pane & Triple
Pane Glass Replacement

We provide replacement double and triple insulated glass for all types of windows, doors, storefronts, and skylights

Modern windows and doors come with insulated glass commonly referred to as double pane glass. Like all window glass, double pane units can break and crack. Double panes also have a second cause of failure caused by deteriorating seals. When the seals do fail the glass becomes foggy and leaves an ugly stain inside the glass unit. There is no way to wash this stain away.

With broken or fogged double panes you have two options. Replace the whole window or install new double pane glass units into the existing window. If your windows are in good repair, it is generally easier, quicker, and less expensive to replace the glass rather than change the whole window.

The same goes for broken or fogged door glass.  We can replace the glass in sliding doors, entry doors, patio doors, and all types of commercial doors on site.

Pioneer Glass will get precision measurements of your glass, fabricate replacement double pane panels, and install them.

Foggy Windows: No Problem!

Insulated Glass Units (IGUs), or double-pane windows, provide substantial energy savings due to reduced heat loss, and are much better noise insulators than their single-pane cousins.

Pioneer Glass can service these types of windows—if it’s not listed, ask. We can likely do it!

FAQs

Why is my window fogged?
You have an Insulated Glass Window! IGUs have two panes of glass separated by a spacer with gas or moisture-removed air taking up the space. A fogged window looks like there is moisture or condensation on the glass, but on the inside surface and not able to be wiped away. This means there is a broken seal, which Pioneer Glass can address in no time.
Why should I buy vinyl windows?

Vinyl windows provide trouble-free operation that lasts for years. They require no painting and don’t peel or pit. And they’re easy to clean, with just soap and water.

I have hard-to-reach windows that are drafty. What do I do?

Consider inside-mount storm panels. Easily reached without climbing up extension ladders, inside-mount storm windows can show off the beauty of your vintage windows and can be readily removed for the summer.

IGU FAQs

What is an Insulated Glass Unit (IGU)?

You have an Insulated Glass Unit (IGU), sometimes referred to as Thermopane and commonly known as double- or triple-pane windows. IGUs provide substantial energy savings due to reduced heat loss, and are much better noise insulators than their single-pane cousins.

Read more about types of IGUs.

What kind of double-pane windows can you fix?

Any shape of IGUs can be replaced, whether square, rectangle, arch, round, octagon, and more.

Other options to replace IGUs (contact us for clarification!) are:

  • Low-E Replacement Units
  • Argon-filled glass replacement panes
  • Warm seal, double edge units
How do you fix my IGU?

You have the option of bringing the window here for us to measure, or we will travel to your home or business.

Most double-hung windows pop out quite easily. For bay windows, skylights, arched windows and any type of fixed glass, we normally travel to the site.

In addition to regular height and width, a measurement of thickness is crucial.

It will be fabricated with any gridwork, or extra energ-saving components like argon gas or Low-E coating you may want.

To install the new thermal window, we pop out the defective old glass unit and install the crystal-clear new one. None of the mess and bother you get with changing the whole window, and at a fraction of the cost. The new insulated glass unit is warranteed for ten years of trouble-free vision.
